General Information
This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of x-ray spectroscopy methods and data analysis and its applications in the fields of magnetism, thin films, nanoparticles, oxides, high pressure and catalysts.
The workshop, held at the LNLS campus, will include lectures and practicals on x-ray absorption spectroscopy interpretations. The fundamentals of x-ray spectroscopy methods, including absorption, scattering, emission, as well as instrumentation and theory, will be approached. The number of participants will be limited to 25 participants. The language of the workshop will be English and Portuguese. All view-graphs and posters must be written in English. As the workshop will include a hands-on tutorial, attendants are encouraged to bring their own laptop. A very few computers will be made available upon request.
French invited speakers are supported by the project “French-Brazilian collaboration on Nanomaterials, Spin Electronics and Quantum Optics (2011-2014)” through grants from Institut de Physique, CNRS. One of the speakers (H.T.) benefits from a French chair at Unicamp (Chaire française à l’UNICAMP) sponsored by the “Consulat Général de France à São Paulo” and UNICAMP.
Atention: The submission period for application was extended to December 19, 2011. See more details
